Grant Garber

PASTOR

Pastor Grant Garber was raised in a Christian home in Ravenswood, WV where he came to faith in Christ at age thirteen and answered the call to preach at age nineteen. He studied and trained for the ministry at the Crown College in Powell, TN where he received a Bachelor of Biblical Studies degree. It was there at college that pastor Grant met his wife Rachael, and in 2002, shortly after graduating, they were married.

In February of 2003, Pastor Grant accepted the call to serve as the Youth Pastor at RBT under the leadership of Pastor Rick Perrine. The Garbers happily served in youth ministry until March of 2025 when Pastor Grant was called to be the Pastor of Ripley Baptist Temple. With twenty-two years of ministry to young people, Pastor Grant continues to carry a burden and a desire to earnestly contend for the faith and extend it to the next generation.

Brandon Morris

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT PASTOR

Bro. Brandon Morris accepted Christ as Savior at the age of twenty-two and answered the call to preach at the age of twenty-four. Bro. Brandon and his wife, Jasmine, accepted the call to become part of the staff at Ripley Baptist Temple in February 2026. Bro. Brandon serves RBT in church administration and is the Director of Young Adult ministries where he has the opportunity to encourage young adults in their walk with Christ. Bro. Brandon holds a deep burden to reach our community for Christ and strengthen believers in their faith.

Our History

Ripley Baptist Temple was founded in 1866 as Ripley Baptist Church with nineteen charter members. Two years after the founding of the church, a Sunday School was established to emphasize the teaching of God’s Word. The church’s first building was erected near Church Street and Main Street in Ripley in 1903.

In 1959, the church became independent of the American Baptist Convention and called its first full-time pastor. The congregation moved to a new building where the church currently meets at the corner of Third Avenue and Charleston Drive in 1963. The church expanded its evangelistic outreach in 1970 with the start of a bus ministry.

Numerous expansions and renovations have taken place through the decades to follow to accommodate growth and the addition of ministries.

For more than 160 years, Ripley Baptist Temple has remained committed to preaching the Gospel, discipling believers, and fulfilling the great commission.
